Lee N. Clements

Lee N. Clements, age 76 of Abbeville, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2020 at his residence.Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, February 24th in the Hughes & Wright Chapel in Cordele.Visitation will be one hour from 1-2 PM in the chapel before the service.Rev. Joel Owens and Rev. Mike Cook will officiate.Interment will be in the Zion Hope Cemetery in Cordele. Kaysie Clements, Chris Sercer, Donna Stripling, and Kenny Croft will provide the music. Pallbearers will be Garon Hitson, Bailey Carmichael, Jesse Basquez, Chris Boyd, Dewayne McBryant, and Bill Stapleton. Mr. Clements was born February 17, 1944, in Cordele, to the late Thomas J. and Elizabeth Poole Clements.He was the owner and operator of Clements Lumber Company in Abbeville, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his son, Lee Nelson "Buddy" Clements, Jr.; two brothers, Ray Clements and Emory Clements; and a sister, Mary Ann Rinehart.Survivors include his wife, Rudean Stapleton Clements of Abbeville; a daughter, Lynne and Bailey Carmichael of Abbeville; bothers-Walter Clements of Abbeville and Jake and Wanda Clements of Cordele,step-son, Horace Braden Jr. of Abbeville; a step-daughter, Kay Braden of Abbeville; seven grandchildren: Kimberly and Chris Clowers, Jennifer and Will Massey, Kaysie Clements, Lee "Nelson" Clements III, Cheyanne Warren, Bob & Jessica Carmichael, and Ross Hatcher; six great-grandchildren: Jayden Barefoot, Grayson Moore, Camden Massey, Kynzlee Massey, Abbie Carmichael, and Sadie Carmichael; and a special niece and nephew, Kayla Marie Mixon Rowe of Ocilla and Jonathan Mixon of Abbeville.
