Fred J. Keene

Fred J. Keene, age 83, of Abbeville, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023, in Crisp Regional Hospital.  He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to hog hunt, and loved his family, his chickens, and his sweet tea.  Fred was also a former member of the Charles L. Bass Masonic Lodge in Pineview.

Fred was born March 11, 1940, in Rochelle, Georgia, to the late Curtis Nelson Keene and Mary Lucinda Harden Keene.  He was also preceded in death by his brother, Derral Keene.

Survivors include his sons:  Kim Purvis (Kimberly), and Joseph Keene (Elizabeth); his daughters:  Neysa Rountree (Glenn), and Tersa Carroll; his brother, Perry Keene (Linda); his sisters:  Betty Turner, and Opal Rountree; 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 29th, at the Frazier & Son Funeral Home.
