Willis L. Taylor

Willis L. “W.L.” Taylor, age 88, of Abbeville, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2022, at his residence. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 21st, at 3:00 p.m. in the M.G. Frazier Memorial Chapel of Frazier & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Larry Dean officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 - 3:00 pm prior to the service in the chapel. Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery, Fitzgerald.
W.L. was born November 11, 1933, in Irwinville, Georgia, to the late Harvey Jordan Taylor and Elsie Walker Taylor. He was a member and deacon at the Abbeville First Baptist Church, and was also a member of the Gideons International and past member of the Crisp Flutter Wheels Square Dancers in Cordele. He also a member of the Irwinville Farmer’s Basketball Team from 1947-1952, which claimed 3 state championships and held the record for the most consecutive wins until it was recently broken.
Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline Fitzgerald Taylor; his daughters, Alisa Taylor Daniel (Mark), Cindy Taylor Farmer (Willie Lee), and Kim Taylor Marshall (Douglas); a sister Audrey Taylor; 6 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (act.alz.org).
