William H. "Bill" Elsberry

Rev. William H. “Bill” Elsberry, age 90, of Abbeville, passed away Friday, January 15, 2021, in Taylor Regional Hospital, Hawkinsville.He was an ordained Baptist minister, and loved the outdoors, especially fishing. Mr. Bill was born October 3, 1930, in Summerville, Georgia, to the late William Henry “Dick” Elsberry and Stella Harp Elsberry. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Martha Kathleen Wilcox Elsberry “Teeny”; and a sister, Shirley Huiras. He is survived by his sons, Carl W. Elsberry (Vicki) of Chatsworth, and Jerry M. Elsberry (Carolyn) of Abbeville; his daughter, Janet E. Hawthorne (David) of Rocky Face; his grandchildren, Crystal Elsberry Kemp of Chatsworth, Allen Elsberry (Amber) of Fitzgerald, Jerry Mark Elsberry Jr. (Melissa) of Middleburg, Fla., Mindy Wilson (Heath) of Eastman, Heidi Cartledge (Zac) of Lexington, SC., Joshua Hawthorne and Jordan Hawthorne both of Rocky Face; his great-grandchildren, Brianna, Corey, Lucas, Dalton, Eliana, Jerry III, David, Andy, Zoe, Zane, and Clara Wren; and his brother, Charles Elsberry of Dalton. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, January 18th, at 2:00 p.m. in Antioch Cemetery with Rev. Tim Moorhouse officiating. Frazier & Son Funeral and Cremation Services is in charge of the arrangements.
