Wayne Dorsey Spurling

Wayne Dorsey Spurling, age 72 of Cordele, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020 at his son’s residence in Cordele.A graveside memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, November 15th in the Siloam Cemetery.Reverend Chuck Taylor will officiate. Mr. Spurling was born on September 15, 1948 in Abbeville, Ga.He was the son of the late Dorsey and Rosa Lee Strozier Spurling.He was of the Baptist Faith and was retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation in the Maintenance Department. He was well known for his love of music (Country and Gospel).He was self-taught and played the guitar and piano.He loved sitting in his backyard with family and friends sharing his music.He is preceded in death by two sisters, Katie Spurling and Bobbie Sue “Susie” Sailor. Survivors include:son-Andy (Tammy) Spurling, step-daughter-Debbie Braden of Jacksonville, Ga., grandsons-Lance (Ashley) Spurling, Blake (Jana) Spurling, Great-grandchildren-Brooks Spurling, Jason Spurling, Karsyn Spurling and Jacob Spurling all of Cordele, sister-Jenny Wilcox of Abbeville, aunt-Allie Mae Spurling and several nieces and nephews.His care givers David Morgan, Reflections Hospice, Peggy Meadows and Ashley Spurling. Frazier and Son Funeral and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
