Veronica “Cricket” McDuffie, age 70 of Rochelle, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at her residence.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 30th in the First Congregational Holiness Church in Hawkinsville.Pastor Billy Cox will officiate and Lucas Allison will present a eulogy.Interment will in the the family plot in the Christian Hill Cemetery. Mrs. McDuffie was born on April 17, 1944 in Cochran.She was daughter of the late William Glenn Sikes and Alma Dosha Coley Sikes.She was an employee of Opelika Manufacturingin Hawkinsville as a weaver in the industrial department.She was a member of the First Congregational Holiness Church in Hawkinsville and was a seamstress.She loved fishing, singing and praised God every day and was very devoted to her family. Survivors include:husband-John A. McDuffie of Rochelle, sons-Gordon Scott Sanders of Rochelle, Michael Allen Sanders of Rochelle and Michael Keith McDuffie of Phoenix City, Alabama, daughters-Sharon Ann (Cap) Gidney of Hawkinsville and Sherry Lynn Henson of Hawkinsville, brother-James Sikes of Mississippi, sister-Avis (Leroy) Russell of Cochran, grandchildren-Christopher Lance Sanders, Philip Wayne Henson, Jessica Lynn Harris, Joshua Glenn Sanders, Matthew Stephen Sanders, Branden Michael Sanders, Dylan Mathen Sanders, Ayden Wyatt Sanders, Buford Eugene Howard, III, Blake Austin Howard and Veronica Jane Jones and 6-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Thursday, May 29th in the funeral home. Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle is in charge of arrangements.
