Vera M. Futch

Vera M. Futch, age 82 of Abbeville, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2018 in the Pinewood Nursing Home in Hawkinsville.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 27th in the Cedar Creek Baptist Church.Visitation will be one hour before the service from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM in the church.Reverend Danny Allen will officiate.Interment will be in the family plot in the Cedar Creek Cemetery. Mrs. Futch was born on August 1, 1935 in Abbeville, Ga.She was daughter of the late Howard P. McKie and June Bolden McKie.She was a wonderful seamstress and homemaker.She was always ready to assist anyone in need especially with her delicious pound cakes.She is preceded in death by her husband, William O. Futch. Survivors include:sons-Randy (Tracy) Futch of Abbeville and Eugene Futch of Douglasville, brother-Charles McKie of Charleston, SC, sister-Juanita Beery of Tifton, grandchildren-Emily, Brandy and Kristy Futch and Lynn (Chris) Schram and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be:Dallas Helms, Phleet Cohen, Bryce Cohen, Tyler Cohen, Ronnie Futch and Hunter Futch. Prelude and postlude will be played by Rose Graham and she will do two selections, “Amazing Grace” and “Old Rugged Cross”. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Cedar Creek Baptist Church or the charity of choice. Frazier and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
