Tommy F. Jernigan, Jr., age 72 of Rochelle, Owensboro Community, passed away Monday, June 12, 2017 in the Crisp Regional Hospital.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 15th in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.Reverend Eddie Wilcox will officiate.Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Mr. Jernigan was born on February 19, 1945 in Valdosta, Ga.He was son of the late Thomas F. Jernigan and Frances Jones Jernigan. He was employed by Shaw Industries and was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include:wife-Mildred Jernigan of Rochelle, sons-John and Joe Jernigan both of Fitzgerald and Tyler Jernigan of Rochelle, daughter-Kylie Jernigan of Rochelle, brothers-Gene Jernigan of Greenville, SC and Charles and Robert Jernigan both of Valdosta, sisters-Linda Gail Ellis of Athens and Mary Schriver and Geneva Jernigan both of Valdosta, 4-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday, June 14th in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Deacons of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Rhonda Henderson will play prelude and postlude and sing “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Is Our God”. Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle is in charge of arrangements.
