Thomas E. Childs, 89, of Abbeville passed away Wednesday at Shady Pines Assisted Living Estate.Graveside funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday in the family plot in the Cedar Creek Cemetery. Rev. Johnny McDuffie will officiate. Mr. Childs was born in Akron, Ohio February 17, 1926.He was son of the late Thomas Eddie Childs and Mae Pitts Childs. He was widow of the late Viola McWhorter Childs. He was a member and deacon of the Cedar Creek Baptist Church and was a W.W. II Veteran. He was a farmerand retired civil service employee from Robins Air Force Base.He was preceded in death by his sons David Childs in 2014 & Roy Childs in 2015. Survivorsinclude: His daughter, Ruth Ann (Johnny) Rhodes of Abbeville; Daughter-in - law Joy Childs of Abbeville.Grandchildren; Heather (Kevin) Hall & Johnathan (Kristi) Rhodes of Abbeville, Great - Grandchild; Koltson Hall of Abbeville. Frazier & Son Funeral Home in Rochelle has Charge of Arrangements. The family will be at the home of Ruth Ann and Johnny Rhodes, 18600 Hwy. 129, Abbeville Saturday, December 26, 2015 prior to the funeral.
