Terry Leslie Sharpe

October 24, 1947 — March 15, 2024

Terry Leslie Sharpe, age 76 of Rochelle, passed away Friday, March 15, 2024 at his residence as the son of a career Air Force Officer  He lived in France, Germany, Arizona, Ohio and California.  A Memorial Service will be held on April 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the M. G. Frazier Memorial Chapel of Frazier and Son Funeral Home.   Pastor  Freddy Hogg will officiate.   Eddie Henderson and Scott Sharpe will present eulogies.

Mr. Sharpe was born on October 24, 1947 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Carl L. Sharpe and Rita Miller Sharpe.  He was drafted into the US Army and while on active duty he received a commission as an Armor Officer.  He served twenty five years on active and reserve duty.  Retired in 1997 with the rank of Lieutant Colonel.  His overseas assignments included Vietnam and Korea. He was a graduate of the US Army Command and General Staff College.  He was the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal with 2nd Oak Leaf Cluster, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with 1st Oak Leaf Cluster, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Medal and 2 overseas bars.

He also retired from the State of Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Game and Fish Division Law Enforcement with 34 years.  Promoted to Conservation Sergeant , he was assigned to Pulaski County for his last 23 years of service until retirement in 2004.  He enjoyed hunting and training pointing dogs.  He traveled with his dogs and hunted upland birds in Montana, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Oklahoma and Texas. He served his country with honor in the United States Army.

He is survived by:  wife-Joyce Sharpe, daughters-Dawn Sharpe and Leslie McDonald, brothers-Ronald Sharpe (Shirley), Scott Sharpe (Rita), grandchildren-Michael Hall, Brendan Hall, and Mason, Meadow McDonald (Ryan) and furry friends, Duke, Fancy and Dixie.

In Terry’s honor, the family request dress code be casual.

In Lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Samaritan’s Purse, P. O. Box 3000, Boone NC 28607.

Frazier and Son Funeral and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.
