T. J. Watson, age 86 of 2091 Cemetery Rd., Pitts, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2009 at his residence.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 30, 2009 in the Union Baptist Church.ElderSteve Pearce and Reverend Buford Tanner will officiate.Interment will be in the Union Cemetery. Mr. Watson was born on April 21, 1923 in Wilcox County.He was son of the late Ernest M. Watson and Ruby Braswell Watson.He was a member of the Union Baptist Church and the Men’s Adult Sunday School Class.He was a retired Machinist and Farmer and served his country with honor in the United States Navy during World War II and also served in the United States Army between World War II and the Korean War.He was preceded in death by 2-sisters-Mary Watson and Ruth Limauro and a brother-William Curtis Watson. Survivors include:brothers-Herman Watson of Valdosta and Melvin Watson of Pitts, sisters-Deane Denby of Albany and Irene Pearce of Cordele. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be:Active-Ernie Watson, Clay Watson, John Patterson, Ralph Bullington, Jr., Chris Utz, and Scott Storey.The Men’s Adult Sunday School Class will serve as honorary escort. Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle has charge of arrangements.
