Sujette “Sue” Taylor, age 92, of Abbeville, passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2021, in the Macon Medical Center Navicent Health.She was a retired teacher with the Wilcox County School System for 30 years, and was a member of the Abbeville First Baptist Church and the Euzelian Sunday School Class.She was also a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the retired Wilcox County Educators, and had attended the Georgia Women’s College at Milledgeville, and Georgia Southwestern College. Sue was born October 31, 1928, in Abbeville, to the late William C. Shackelford and Ola Warren Shackelford.She was also preceded in death by her husband, John W. Taylor, and her sister, Carolyn Hammond.Survivors include her sons, Chuck Taylor and Johnny Taylor (Elaine) both of Abbeville; her daughter, Cynthia Smith of Hawkinsville; her grandchildren, John Marshall Smith (Millie), Jamie Jenkins (Tyler), and Janie Nash; and five great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 12th, at 11:00 a.m., in Stubbs Cemetery with Rev. Chuck Taylor and Rev. Tim Moorhouse officiating.Pallbearers will be Jamie McLeroy, Willie Davis, Eddie Little, Tyler Jenkins, John Marshall Smith, and William Dozier.A time of visitation will follow the service at the grave site.
