Rudolph Valentino McDonald was born on August 20, 1930 in Pitts, Georgia.He was the son of the late Thomas Guy McDonald and Mary Garlean Benson McDonald of Pitts, Georgia.He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. On April 20, 1952, Rudolph married Evelyn Inez Walker of Pitts, Georgia.Soon after being married, Rudolph and Evelyn moved to Fairbanks, Alaska where Rudolph was stationed at Eielson Air Force Base.After serving in the Army for 4 years, Rudolph and Evelyn moved to Atlanta and Rudolph was employed by the City of Atlanta Public Works Department for 30 years.While living in Atlanta, Rudolph attended Georgia Institute of Technology. After retiring Rudolph and Evelyn returned to Rochelle in 1986 to make their home.During this time, Rudolph worked for the City of Rochelle in the public works department. Rudolph was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rochelle and the Wilcox County American Legion Post #71.He served as the Sunday School Teacher for the Exploring the Bible Men’s Sunday School Class for many years. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Evelyn W. McDonald of Rochelle and several nieces and nephews and was preceded in death by his brothers, Ellis McDonald, L. T. McDonald and Austin McDonald and a sister, Vinette Lynch. Graveside services will be held Sunday, December 17, 2017 in the Morningside Cemetery with Military Honors.Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home from 2:00 PM-2:45 PM.Pastor Nelson Goddard will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donation be made to the First Baptist Church of Rochelle, P. O. Box 566, Rochelle, Ga. The family may be contacted at the residence of Tommy and Delaine McDonald,1507 Ashley St., Rochelle, Ga. Frazier and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
