Roslyn Ware Veal Fisher, 86, of Rochelle, Georgia went to be with the Lord onAugust 28, 2021. She was born on February 22, 1935 to parents Eroyce and Dewey Veal of Wilcox County. Rose grew up in Wilcox County, was baptized at age seven in Cedar Creek and became a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church. After graduating from Rochelle High School, Rose attended Middle Georgia College and married her childhood sweetheart, Carlton Fisher on December 29, 1954. Following Carlton’s career, they lived in Maryland, Alaska, McRae and Douglas, GA, Evanston, IL and for over two decades in Decatur, GA, before returning in 1989 to their roots in Wilcox County where they were active in the ministries of Cedar Creek Baptist and Rochelle First Baptist churches. Rose worked intermittently for the Internal Revenue Service while living in Decatur, but the work that gave her the most joy was that of being a home maker. Rose is known among family and friends for keeping an immaculate home, being a great cook (especially fried chicken), living Christian virtues, and being proud of her marriage and family. She was an avid walker and loved to care for her children, grandchildren, and pets. Rose was predeceased by her husband, Carlton (married 60 years) and her siblings: Normie, Frazier and Charlye. Rose is survived by her two children: Carlton Fisher, Jr. (Lisa) and Sonya Fisher Dant; six grandchildren: Travis Fisher (Amy), Lauryn Dant (Dave), Hannah Fisher, Meggie Dant Friend (Jason), Holly Andrews, and Chloe Fisher; two great-great grandchildren, Andrew Friend and Harper Rose Andrews; and devoted friend, Odessa Gibson. Rose’s Celebration of Life Service will be held at Cedar Creek Baptist Church on Tuesday, August 31st, at 11:00 a.m.Due to Covid restrictions and limited seating, the service is limited to family members, close friends, and caretakers andCovid protection protocols will be respected.
