Roger L. Burnette

Roger L. Burnette, age 65 of Pitts, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2017 at his residence. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 9, 2017 in the Pope City Cemetery.Reverend Danny Allen will officiate.Interment will be in the family plot. Roger was born on July 1, 1951 in Pitts, Ga.He was son of the late James Burnette and Mattie Watson Burnette.He was employed by the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier in Rochelle.He was a 1969 graduate of Wilcox County High School.He was preceded in death by a son, Craig Mullis, in 2014. Survivors include:wife-Judy Burnette of Pitts, sons-Mike Burnette and wife, Kathy of Pitts and Ernest Cook of Pitts, daughter-Tracy Mullis of Pitts, brother-Edgar Burnette and wife, Kathy of Pitts, sisters-Nadine Conner and husband, George of Pitts and Wilma Nell Barnard and husband, Jerry of Rochelle and 3-grandchildren-Jackson, Carson and Katie Burnette. The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Pope City Baptist Church, 2088 Gordon Rd., Rochelle, Ga. 31079. Pallbearers will be:Tony Barnard, Matt Barnard, David Barnard, Tim Conner, Wade Burnette and Scott McGuinty. Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle is in charge of arrangements.
