Robert Eugene Dunagan

Robert Eugene Dunagan, age 86 of Abbeville, passed away Friday, February 23, 2024 at his residence.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, February 26th in the Lebanon Baptist Church.  Visitation will be one hour before the service from 10-11 AM.  Pastor Bryan Luke and Pastor Chuck Taylor will officiate.  Interment will be in the Cannonville Cemetery.

Mr. Dunagan was born on March 18, 1937 in Abbeville to the late Edker Dunagan and Vera Turk Dunagan.  He grew up a share cropper's son and plowed with a mule when he was a boy.  He was a man of many talents and occupations-self-employed Contractor/Builder and worked at Western Auto Parts and Fuller’s Truck Stop.  He served as the Constable of Wilcox County for a while in the 60’s.  His hobbies were NASCAR and loved the car races and watching western movies.  He was preceded in death by brothers-Richard Dunagan and Edker Dunagan and sisters-Geraldine Meredith, Vera Mae Hilliard and Elizabeth Phillips.

Survivors include:  daughter-Jill Dunagan McDuffie (Ronnie), grandsons-Robbie McDuffie (Rhonda), Stacey McDuffie (Chandy) and Stephen McDuffie (Julie), great-grandchildren-Dylan McDuffie (Abby), Ryan McDuffie, Mary Katherine McDuffie, Deacon McDuffie, Hannah McDuffie and Zachary McDuffie, step-great-grands-Daniel Owens (Amy), Nick Owens, Abbey Owens, Ethan Clark and Chandon Clark and a sister-Clara Lanier, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
