Ricky Land

Ricky Land, age 56 of 1786 Powell Rd., Pitts, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2013 at his residence.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 30th in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Owensboro.Reverend Mike Gibbs and Reverend Tom Camp will officiate.Interment will be in the family plot in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Ricky was born on March 9, 1957 in Cordele.He was son of the late Melvin Carl Land and Arena Teagle Land.He was employed with Weyerhaeuser Pulp Mill in Oglethorpe as an Electrical Technician.He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include:wife-Sherrie Land of Pitts, son-Rob Land of Pitts, daughters-Miranda (Josh) Lamb of Abbeville and Morgan (Bruce) Carmichael of Pitts, sisters-Rosalind (Paul) Alexander of Gainsville and Sheila (Jack) McDonald of St. Simons Island, 3-grandchildren-Katie and Ansley Lamb both of Abbeville, Owen Carmichael of Pitts and mother-in-law-Ola Nell Gibbs of Abbeville. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Monday, July 29th in the funeral home. Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle is in charge of arrangements.
