Retired/MSGT. Frank James Brown, Jr., age 72 of Quitman, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015 in the South Georgia Medical Center.Graveside services will be held at 9:00 AM Wednesday, May 13th in the Christian Home Cemetery. Reverend Ed Reaves and Reverend Quillian Barfield will officiate. Interment will be in the family plot in the Christian Home Cemetery. Mr. Brown was born on June 5, 1942 in Rochelle, Ga.He was son of the late Frank J. Brown and Annie Ruth Hicks Brown. He was a member at Double Run Baptist Church.He served his country with honor in the United State Air Force during the Vietnam Era.He received the Meritorious Service Medal, the Air Force Good Conduct Medal with five oak leaf clusters.He also received the Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon with four oak leaf clusters.He received the National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, the Air Force Overseas Service Long Tour Ribbon, the Air Force Commendation Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal with five service stars. Survivors include:sons-Frank Brown III of Quitman and Robert Brown of Gainsville, Florida, daughters-Joanne Brown Evans of Coco, Florida and Linda Brown McMichen of Valdosta, brothers-Hicks and Bobby Brown both of Rochelle, sisters-Marelda French of Rochelle, Peggy Cienfuegos of Albany, Mary Anne Collins of Rebecca and Faye Dennard of Rochelle,7-grandchildren-Taylor Lindsey Burch, Janis Lin Evans, Corey Jacob Brown, Daniel Matthew Brown, Nathan Alex Brown, Olivia Grace Brown and Mackenzie Summerhill McMichen. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Tuesday, May 12th in M. G. Frazier Memorial Chapel of Frazier and Son Funeral Home. Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle is in charge of arrangements.
