Myrtle Lee Thornton, age 100 of 402 E. Bay St., Pineview, Ga., formerly of Abbeville, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2015 in the Crossview Care Center.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 3, 2015 in the Siloam Baptist Church.Visitation will be one hour before the service from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM in the church.Reverend Tommy Baker and Reverend David Fisher will officiate.Interment will be in the family plot in the Siloam Cemetery. Mrs. Thornton was born on March 5, 1915 in Ashburn.She was daughter of the late William Jasper Goodman and Annie Lee Wright Goodman.She was a member of Siloam Baptist Church and a homemaker.She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Thomas Thornton, Jr. and brothers, Virgil Goodman, Henry Goodman, James Goodman, Willie J. Goodman, and Leon Goodmanand sisters, Sarah Belle Satterfield, Ella Mae Ellerbee and Nadine Actchison. Survivors include: Caregiver-Ronald Spires of Abbeville, and a sister-in-law-Mildred Goodman and several nieces and nephews. Deacons of Siloam Baptist Church, James Hollingsworth, Jake Keen, Quiller Keen, Joe Rustin, Lanier Keen and Kyle Keen, will serve as pallbearers. Charlotte Rustin and Gala Bloodworth will play prelude and Postlude.Charles Fisher will sing “Bring My Children Home” and “Old Rugged Cross”.
