Myra Davis of Cordele, Georgia passed away peacefully at her home on July 2, 2020 at the age of 61. She was born on January 4, 1959 in Eastman, Ga. to the late R. L.and Eva Rogers Pittman.After she graduated from Dodge County High School in 1977, she met and married the love of her life, Johnny Davis on July 23, 1977.She was a loving mother to Brent, Brooks and Britni. After high school, Myra pursued her dream of becoming a teacher and earned her specialist degree for teaching children and helping them reach their full potential.Myra was an active member of Hatley Baptist Church which she loved dearly. Myra was always up for an adventure.She enjoyed traveling to the beach and mountains on family vacations.She loved flowers and always enjoyed working in her flower beds.She also loved going to estate sales and antique shops with her daughters.She enjoyed cooking and baking and teaching her grandchildren how to make the perfect cake. She was kind and welcoming to everyone she met and never met a stranger.She will always be remembered for her joyful heart and contagious smile.She never hesitated to help someone and will always be remembered as selfless, kind, and a Jesus loving and God- fearing woman. She was met at heavens’ gates by her father, R. L. Pittman, her mother, Eva Pittman and a brother, James Pittman. Myra leaves to cherish her loving memory with her husband, Johnny Davis, her three children, Brent, Brooks and Britni, and all six of her precious grandchildren, Ella Grace Gibbs, Lizzy Rae Gibbs, Cotton Gibbs, Gunner Martinez, John Waylon Martinez and Gamble Davis, and she is also survived by her in-laws, Alf and Joyce Davis of Pitts, and her step-mother, Maggie Pittman and a sister, Elaine Pittman both of Eastman. A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 4th at 10:00 AM in Double Run Cemetery with Reverend James Spires and Reverend Craig Barnette officiating.Due to the COVID-19 virus, we kindly ask everyone to please wear a mask and observe social distancing for the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wilcox County State Bank, P. O. Box 536, Rochelle, Ga. 31079 C/O Joel Greene Fund who is fighting pancreatic cancer.
