Melvin E. Watson

Melvin E. Watson, age 74 of Pitts, passed away Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at his residence.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 3rd in the Union Baptist Church.Reverend Buford Tanner will officiate.Interment will be in the family plot in the Union Cemetery with Military Rites. Mr. Watson was born on December 20, 1937 in Moultrie, Ga.He was son of the late Ernest M. Watson and Ruby Braswell Watson.He was a member of the Union Baptist Church and the Men's Adult Sunday School Class.He was retired Civil Service Employee from Robins Air Force Base.He served his country with honor in the United States Army.He was preceded in death by 3-brothers-Olan, T. J. and William Curtis Watson and 2-sisters-Mary Watson and Ruth Limauro. Survivors include:wife-Jane Watson of Pitts, son-Ernie Watson of Pitts, daughter-Wendy (John) Patterson of Pitts, brother-Herman Watson of Valdosta, sisters-Deane Denby of Albany and Irene Pearce of Cordele, 4-grandchildren-Lacey P. Bullington, Jill Patterson, Heather Watson and Clay Watson and 1-great-grandchild-Rowdy Bullington. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Friday, March 2nd in the funeral home.
