Melissa Mary Rountree

Melissa Rountree, age 70 of Pitts, passed away Friday, April 18, 2025 in Crisp Regional Hospital.  Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, April 22nd in the Cordele First Church, 302 12th Avenue E., Cordele, Ga. 31015.  Visitation will be one hour from 2-3 PM in the church before the service.  Reverend Larry Rollins will officiate. Interment will be in the Pitts Cemetery.

Melissa was born on March 4, 1955 in Cordele, Ga.  She was the daughter of the late James Hadley Cox and Linda Addy Cox.  She was a retired Special Education Teacher with the Wilcox County School System.  She had received her Master’s Degree in her early years of teaching.  She was a member of the Cordele First Church.  She was preceded in death by a brother-James Hatley Cox III.

Survivors include:  husband- Donnie Rountree, sons-Wesley Rountree (Sara) and Casey Rountree (Alisha), sister-Emily Cox and grandchildren-James Rountree, Nova Rountree and Hunter Moore.

Frazier and Son Funeral and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.
