Mayor Bob Scarborough

Mayor Bob Scarborough, age 57 of Pineview passed away Saturday, November 29, 2008 at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, December 1, 2008 at Pope City Baptist Church. Rev. Danny Allen will officiate. Mr. Scarborough was born August 4, 1951 in Clearwater, Fla.He was son of the late Harmon Delmar Scarborough and Dorothy Louise Pope Scarborough. He had been Mayor of Pineview for the past 3 years and was a member of Pope City Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his step-father Joe Edward Rhodes and by two brothers Lewis Albert (Beaver) Scarborough and Daniel Anthony (Dan) Scarborough. Survivors include: wife, Janis G. Scarborough, Pineview, Daughters – Lisa (Brian) Tscherter, Mankato, MN and Verna (John) Rutiaga, Corinth, TX. Brother -J.D.(Deedy) (Felicia) Scarborough, Cordele, Grandchildren – Laura Walters, Daniel Walters and Catherine Rutiaga all of Corinth, TX. Visitation will be Monday, December 1, 2008 from1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Pope City Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Pope City Baptist Church % Herbert Miller, 140 Miller Road, Rochelle, GA31079 Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle has charge of arrangements.
