MaryKay McCarty Bridgers, age 43 of Charlotte, NC passed from the arms of her sister, Monica McCarty, to the arms of our Lord on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 in the Harris Hospice Unit of Novant Presbyterian Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 6 at 2 p.m. in the Cedar Creek Baptist Church in Wilcox County.Visitation will be one hour before the service from 1-2 p.m.Graveside services will follow at the Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Mary Kay was born on March 24, 1975 in Memphis, Tennessee. She was the daughter of Dr. Gird Astor McCarty, Jr. and the late Kay Farrar McCarty.She was the wife of the late Adam Wesley Bridgers of Rochelle and mother to Everett Doster Bridgers, age 11.She graduated from Science Hill High School in Johnson City, Tennessee and studied Early Childhood Education at Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi.She was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith. Survivors include: son-Everett Doster Bridgers and mother-in-law-Marty Doster McKie, both of Rochelle, father-G.A. McCarty of Chuckey, Tennessee, sister-Monica McCarty of Chapel Hill, NC, nephew-Mac Benning, and niece-Emily Benning, both of Rifle, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Trust for Everett D. Bridgers c/o R.L. Adams, Attorney, 333 Fayetteville Street, Ste 1201, Raleigh, NC 27601.
