Mary McIntosh Smith, 96, of Abbeville, passed away Monday, July 5, 2010.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 7 at 2:00 P. M. in the Abbeville United Methodist Church.Reverend Gary Carter and Reverend Debbie Cone will officiate.Interment will be in the Stubbs Cemetery.Visitation will be held 1:00 PM-2:00 PM in the church. Mrs. Smith was born in Jacksonville, FL.She was the daughter of the late Donald and Ellen Watson McIntosh.She was also preceded in death by her husband, E. I. Smith and a daughter, Mary Frances Smith. She was a dedicated member of the Abbeville United Methodist Church serving as church pianist for 40 years and was the church treasurer for 24 years.She was a member of the Abbeville Lions Club and served on the board of the Wilcox Co. DFACS.She and her husband operated Smith’s Department Store for 30 years. She is survived by her daughters; Margie (Charles) Cannon, Abbeville; Brenda (Roger) Sizemore, Lawrenceville; Patsy (Wesley) Bowen, Abbeville; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Abbeville United Methodist Church, 233 Broad St., Abbeville, Ga. 31001 or to Stubbs Cemetery C/O Carol Culpepper, 113 Riverside Drive, Abbeville, Ga. 31001. Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle has charge of arrangements.
