Mary Keene “Mama Keene” Heard age 98 of Fitzgerald, passed away Friday, December 7, 2012 in the Osceola Nursing Home.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 11th in the Abbeville First Baptist Church.Reverend Jim Faircloth and Reverend Tony Dixon will officiate.Interment will be in the family plot in the Stubbs Cemetery. Mrs. Heard was born on September 4, 1914 in Fitzgerald having lived the greater part of her life in Abbeville.She was daughter of the late J. Horton Taylor and Callie Belle Mann Taylor.She was a Cattle Farmer and member of the Abbeville First Baptist Church and the Euzelian Sunday School Class.She was also a member of the Wilcox County Farm Bureau and the Georgia Cattleman’s Association.She was preceded in death by her husbands-Arnold Keene and Earl Heard, granddaughter-Kathy Lott and a son-in-law, Leo Brown. Survivors include:daughters-Gloria (SD) Williamson of Fitzgerald and Carolyn Brown of Macon, sister-Vivian Lane of Rebecca, 9-grandchildren, 14-great-grandchildren and 1-great-grandchild. Visitation will be from 3-5 PM on Sunday, December 9th in the funeral home. Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle is in charge of arrangements.
