Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Mathews

Mary Elizabeth “Liz” Mathews, age 85 of Rochelle, passed away Monday, December 4, 2017 in the Tift Regional Medical Center.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, December 6th in the Rochelle United Methodist Church.Visitation will be one hour before the service from 2-3 PM in the church.Reverend Eric Sizemore and Reverend Bill Kent will officiate.Interment will be in the family plot in the Morningside Cemetery. Mrs. Mathews was born on November 3, 1932 in Cordele.She was daughter of the late Robert K. Nobles and Veleria Fulghum Nobles.She was a retired florist from Pitts Flower Shop and was a member of the Rochelle United Methodist Church.She was preceded in death by her husband, Emery Edward Mathews and a brother, Robert K. Nobles, Jr. in 2014. Survivors include:son-Sam (Cheryl) Mashburn of Rochelle, daughter-Fanilu(Dale) Eason of Rochelle, sister-Patricia N. (Mac) Howell of Pitts, grandchildren-Samuel (Hannah) Mashburn, Matthew (Connie) Mashburn, Chris (Ashley) Eason, Donavan (Ashley) Eason, great-grandchildren-Naomi Grace Mashburn, Boston Sparks Mashburn, Cullen Beach Mashburn, Natalie Elizabeth Eason, Eliazbeth “Ellie” Louise Eason and a beloved cousin-Frances (Ronnie) Floyd of Clear Lake, TX. The family may be contacted at the residence of Fanilu and Dale Eason, 5923 Hwy. 233, Rochelle, Ga. Frazier and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
