Mary E. Bissette, age 90, formerly of Pitts, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2023, in Fairview Park Hospital, Dublin, Georgia. She was a member of the Pitts Church of God, and attended Christian Home Baptist Church for many years.
Mary was born August 15, 1932, in Pitts, Georgia to the late Jim Elder and Leady McBryant Elder. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy Bissette; her brother, Harvey Elder; and her sisters, Grace Hattaway and Jane Brown; and her step-father, William Bissette.
Survivors include her daughter, Brenda Pope (Bobby); her son, Randy Bissette (Terrie); her grandchildren, Robby Pope (Wendy), Lorie Goss (Danny), Nathan Bissette (Nicole), and Heather Bissette (Jen) and their mother Sharon Sanders (Bill); her great-grandchildren, Matt Goss (Mandy), Kyle Goss (Emily), Tyler Goss (Jade), Luke Goss, Morgan Pope (Wanda), Mollie Pope, Mason Pope (Brittany), Skyler Phagan (Taylor), Raven Bissette, Olivia and River Bissette; and her great-great-grandchildren, Parker Pope, Silas and Ellie Griffin, Elyza Goss, Shelby Phagan, Ada Rose Phagan, Murphie Simmons, Stella Kate, Dawson, Ace, and Pyper Pope.
A chapel service will be held on Tuesday, June 20th, at 3:00 p.m. in the M.G. Frazier Memorial Chapel of Frazier & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Bobby Pope and Rev. David Clark officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. A private interment will be in the Christian Home Cemetery.
