Martha C. Thompson, age 77 of Cordele (formerly of Pitts), passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2020 in the Cordele Health and Rehab.A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 29th in the Pleasant View Cemetery.Eli Mixon and Reverend Jimmy Black will officiate. Mrs. Thompson was born on June 20, 1943 in Rochelle, Ga.She was daughter of the late Lloyd D. Cross and Hartie Ruth Cox Cross.She was a homemaker and member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church.She was an avid reader.She loved family and grandchildren and loved to crochet.She was preceded in death by her husband, James Heyward Thompson and 2 sisters-Margaret Howell and Ethel Young. Survivors include:son-James Thompson (Michele) of Cordele, daughter-Lilaine Barfield of Eastman, brothers-Henry Cross of Moultrie (Debbie), Delette Cross (Robin) of Washington State and John Cross of Pitts, and grandchildren-Elizabeth Thompson, Evan Thompson, Sarah Sumner Barnowsky, Eli Mixon, Adam Reid, Joseph Reid, Mack McNiel and Kayla McMahan.
