Martha C. Finleyson

Mrs. Martha C. Finleyson, age 100, of Pineview, passed away August 25, 2022, in the Southwell Health and Rehabilitation Center, Adel, Georgia.  A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 28 ^th , in the Pineview Cemetery with Rev. Blake Westbrook and Rev. Richard Compton officiating.

Mrs. Finleyson was born February 7, 1922, in Pineview, GA to the late Morris M. Cheek and Lucille Cannon Cheek.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Finleyson, Jr. in 1992; and her son-in-law, Madison David Brown, Jr. in 2020.  She was a life long member of the Pineview-Finleyson United Methodist Church and most recently a member of The Oaks Community Church.  Mrs. Finleyson devoted much of her life to the Wilcox County School System where she served as a teacher until retirement and continued serving as a substitute.

She is survived by daughter, Jan Finleyson Brown.  She was “Mema” to grandchildren, Madison David Brown III (Amanda), Luke F. Brown and Caroline Brown as well as great-grandchildren, Madison David Brown IV “Dason” and Amelia Brown.
