Marlene G. Cason

Marlene G. Cason, age 84, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023, in the Phoebe Sumter Medical Center, Americus, Georgia.    She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church, and a retired CNA with the Crisp County Hospital.  Marlene loved basketball and had played on the Rochelle Rockets basketball team.  She also enjoyed painting, loved the outdoors, and was a very loving mother and grandmother.
Marlene was born June 20, 1939, in Rochelle, to the late James Harvey Gordon and Hassie Pearl Harvey Gordon.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hollis Allan Cason; her daughter, Sharon Kathy Cason; and her 10 older siblings.
Survivors include her daughter, Gina Stephens (Richard) of Leslie; a brother, Ralph Gordon of Rochelle; her grandchildren:  Brandi Charbonneau Morales, Stephanie Duff, and Ginnie Jones; her great-grandchildren: Jack Duff and Daniel Morales; a special cousin, Evelyn Gordon; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 18th, at 3:00 p.m. in the M.G. Frazier Memorial Chapel of Frazier & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Brenda Lawson officiating.  Interment will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00 pm. prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Diabetes Foundation, the Alzheimer's Foundation, or the Humane Society of your choice.
