Marion Sutton Herring, age 94 of Centerville, Ga. passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2018 in The Lodge at Kimberly in Warner Robins.A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, August 11th in the Rochelle United Methodist Church. Rev. Nancylee Cater will officiate. Visitation will be Friday, August 10th from 5-7 PM in the funeral home. Mrs. Herring was born on June 14, 1924 in Rochelle, Ga.She was daughter of the late Charles Ottis Sutton and Minnie Bagwell Sutton.She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Warner Robins. At 17, she was named to be the youngest Chief Clerk of the draft board. She was in the Toast Masters Club where she had won many awards and was a member of the Warner Robins Art Association winning many ribbons.She wrote a memoir “Lest We Forget” and she was owner/operator of a daycare.She had lived in Albany for many years retiring from civil service from Robins Air Force Base as a Budget Analyst.She was an avid reader and loved doing her art work. Survivors include:daughter-Merry Coble of Warner Robins, brother-Bill Sutton of Rochelle, sisters-Annette Abbott of Dallas, Dorothy Terry of Pitts and Alice Brooks of Rochelle, grandson-David (Jodi) Coble of Warner Robins, great-grandchildren-Max and Maggie Coble of Warner Robins and many nieces and nephews. Dawn Sutton will play prelude and postlude and Rev. Jay Reppert will sing "How Great Thou Art". Frazier and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
