Marie Barker

Marie Barker, age 78 of Cordele, formerly of Pineview, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2014 in the Crisp Regional Hospital.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 9th in the Union Baptist Church.Reverend Larry Wilbanks, Reverend Buford Tanner and Reverend Ray Burnette will officiate.Interment will be in the family plot in the Union Cemetery. Mrs. Barker was born on September 24, 1935 in Pitts, Ga.She was daughter of the late Tip Braziel and Cleo Standridge Braziel.She was a homemaker and member of the Union Baptist Church and the Love Sunday School Class.She was preceded in death by her husband, Bartlett A. Barker and a daughter, Debby Helms. Survivors include:sons-B. A. (Diana) Barker, Jr. of Stockton, California and Llewellyn (Sara) Barker of Ridgecrest, California, daughter-Rose (Ray) Burnette of Cordele, brother-Rudolph Braziel of Rebecca, grandchildren-Anthony Burnette, Daniel Burnette, Kelley Laidler, Derrick Helms, Alex Barker, Nicolas Barker, J. R. Barker, Dawn Barker, Kera Barker and Garrette Barker, great-grandchildren-Cole Burnette, Caleb Burnette, Cameran Burnette, Caiden Burnette, Addison Burnette, Ansley Burnette, Samuel Burnette and Gavin Porter. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Thursday, May 8th in the funeral home. Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle is in charge of arrangements.
