Marice Elvin Pearce

Marice Elvin Pearce, 78, a longtime resident of Brunswick, Georgia, passedaway June 12, 2012 in Brunswick, with his family by his side. Funeral services will be held Saturday June 16, 2012 at 11 AM in the Chapel at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral home with grave side services in Pitts, Georgia at Union Cemetery at 5PM. With military rites. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Jonathan Burnem, Dustin Burnem, Kristopher Perkins, Bryan Tucker, Joey Pearce and DJ Pearce. Born at home on June 13, 1933 in Pitts, Georgia to the late Aubert and Stella Pearce, he served as a paratrooper in the United States Army. Elvin retired from Babcock and Wilcox after twenty six years of service, the Air National Guard after thirty seven years of service in which he received an outstanding service award, and Jared Industries after eight years of service. He also worked for thirty years in the grocery industry with Colonial Stores, Pantry Pride, Big Star, A & P, and Mocks IGA. He was a wonderful brother, devoted father and a doting grandfather and was a member of the Lighthouse Community Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Thorwald Pearce and beloved granddaughter, Kasey LaRoche. He is survived by six children, Morris Elvin Pearce Jr, Benjamin AubertPearce,Stella Marie Outen, Sherry Auten, Gina Knox, and Tina Keen, eleven grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren, three brothers, Austin Pearce, Ashford Pearce, and Wayne Pearce, three sisters, Bonnel Allen,Margie Blanton, and Bobbie Wilson and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends and family in the Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home from 6-8 pm on Friday June 15th. Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle is in charge of local arrangements.
