Lucia Mae Owens

Lucia Owens, age 68 of 906 Gordon Rd., Rochelle, passed away Friday, November 21, 2008 at her residence.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, November 24, 2008 in the Christian Hill Freewill Baptist Church.Interment will be in the Christian Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Owens was born on May 4, 1940 in Wilcox County and was the daughter of the late Emmett McDuffie and Cynthia Leno Duncan McDuffie. She was a nurse at Taylor Regional Hospital and was a member of the Christian Hill Freewill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lee Owens, Sr. in 2008 and a son Danny Owens in 1979. Survivors include:sons-Joseph L. Owens, Jr., Luther Owens, Mark Owens, Paul Owens, Timmie Owens, Matthew Owens and Levi Owens, daughter-Lisa Moorhouse all of Wilcox County, brothers-Franklin McDuffie and Joel W. McDuffie, sisters-Christine James and Evon Flowd, 19-grandchildren and 7-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Sunday, November 23, 2008 in the funeral home.
