Louis Stephens, age 67 of 778 April Rd., Rochelle, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014 at his residence.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 18th in the King of Kings Christian Church.Brother Red McKinney, Brother Jonathon McKinney and Brother Ruel McKinney will officiate.Interment will be in the family plot in the King of Kings Cemetery. Mr. Stephens was born on May 10, 1947 in Quitman, Ga.He was son of the late William Blonnie Stephens and Evie Durrance Stephens.He had formerly lived in Brunswick and Fitzgerald and had lived the past 41 years in Rochelle.He was a member of the King of Kings Christian Church.He was raised in the Georgia Baptist Children’s Home where he and his wife, Mattie Lou Taylor Stephens, met.He was preceded in death by a daughter-Mary Ruth Stephens, brothers-Eddie Stephens and Leonard Stephens, sister-Nora Richardson and a grandson-Jonathan C. Owens in 2008. Survivors include:wife-Mattie “Pat” Stephens of Rochelle, sons-Louis (Stephanie) Stephens, Jr. of Rochelle, Jeffery Allen(Debbie) Stephens of Rochelle, Richard Hitson of Pitts and David (Penny) Reynolds of Cordele, daughter-Sheila Ann Owens of Rochelle, brothers-Thomas Stephens of Dublin and Jerry (Diane) Stephens of Rochelle, sisters-Mae (Wayne) Hughes of Dublin, Elan (Greg) Case of Macon, Elsie Muns of Dublin, Ann Dowling of Dublin, Sara (Kenny) White of Rochelle and Thelma (David) Gonzales of Tifton, sister-in-law-JoAnne Stephens, 13-grandchildren and 22-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Tuesday, June 17th in the funeral home. Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle is in charge of arrangements.
