Lorene W. Keene, age 98 of Abbeville, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2018 in Eastman.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 4th in the Abbeville First Baptist Church.Visitation will be 10-11 AM one hour before the service in the church.Reverend Chuck Taylor will officiate.Interment will be in the family plot in the Stubbs Cemetery. Mrs. Keene was born on September 2, 1920 in Abbeville.She was daughter of the late Jacob Wendell Walker and Virginia Lou McAnally Walker.She was a member of the Abbeville First Baptist Church and was City Clerk for the City of Abbeville for 25 years.She was Assistant Librarian with Wilcox County Library for 4 years and was a member of the WMU.She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Keene in 1978. Survivors include:son-Larry (Frankie Sue) Keene of Abbeville, daughters-Glenda (Forrest) Woodard of Eastman and Linda (Wayne) Parker of Birmingham, Alabama, sister-Eugenia Anderson of Macon, 6-grandchildren, 11-great-grandchildren and 1-great-great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be:active-Clayton Parker, Conner Parker, Bret Keene, Rich Dowdy, John Blount, Spencer Butler and Chuck Duffny.Honorary will be Deacons of Abbeville First Baptist Church.
