Lillian Benningfield

Lillian Benningfield, age 86 of Abbeville, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024 at her residence.  Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, June 2, 2024 in the Abbeville First Baptist Church.  Visitation will be one hour before the service from 2:00 PM-3:00 PM in the church.  Reverend Chuck Taylor will officiate.  Interment will be in the Stubbs Cemetery.

Mrs. Benningfield was born on January 22, 1938 in Oglethorpe.  She was daughter of the late Ralph Dent and Lila Whitman Dent.  She was a member of the Abbeville First Baptist Church.  She was an LPN having been employed with Abbeville Nursing Home and Pineview Nursing Home.  After her retirement, she became a caregiver for many people in her community.  She was preceded in death by 2 sons-Mike and Leroy Wilcox, daughter-Rose Mary Touchton and a sister-Carolyn Luther.

Survivors include:  son-Durham Wilcox, Jr. (Viva), daughter-Deborah Wilcox (Danny), sister-Margie Roberts (Jimmy),  9 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
