Leona "Granny Nub" Coone

PITTS, GA - Leona “Granny Nub” Coone, age 87 of Pitts, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2015 in the Medical Center Navicent Health in Macon. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 3:00 PM in the Pitts Church of God. Reverend Danny Rhodes and Rev. Britt Peavywill officiate. Mrs. Coone was born April 21, 1928 in Allentown, Florida.She was daughter of the late John Henry Linzy and Antie Mae Hughes. She was retired from the Florida Sip Company in Plant City, Florida where she sectionized grapefruit. She was preceded in death by four sisters,Lillian Linzy, Annette Carlton, Ellen Smith, Robbie Carlton, and two brothers, William Linzy, Elmer Linzy. Survivors include: Daughter, Jewell “Jo” (Rick) Friel of Pitts, GA; brother, Ommer Linzy of Plant City, FL; 4 sisters, Jewel Gould of Baxley, GA,Pauline Lehman of Lake Park, GA, Margaret Middlebrooks of Plant City, FL and Brenda Rose of Pitts, GA, 2-grandchildren, Kristin Haire, Jacob Friel and 1-great-grandchild-Jett Haire. Many nieces, nephews and a host of other family members survive. Visitation will be from 2-3 PM before the service at the church.
