Laurie A. Estes, age 93 of Abbeville, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2014 in the Golden Living Center in Tifton.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, October 4th in the Abbeville United Methodist Church with Reverend Jim Faircloth and Reverend Chuck Taylor officiating.Visitation will be one hour before the service from 2-3 PM in the church.Interment will be at 3:00 PM Sunday, October 5th in the family plot in the Crouch Cemetery in Gay, Georgia with Chaplain Gregory Estes officiating. Mrs. Estes was born on November 20, 1920 in Augusta, Ga.She was daughter of the late Julian Shields Anderson and Agnes Deason Anderson.She was a homemaker and a member of the Abbeville United Methodist Church.She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shauna Bennett and a son, Madison Estes.She was widower of the late Dr. Jarrell Madison Estes. Survivors include:sons-Jarrell Estes of Manchester, Tony Estes of Waco, Greg Estes of Columbia, SC, Michael Estes of Abbeville and Ren Estes of Tifton, daughters-Sandra Klingman of Des Moines, Iowa, Andrea Batchelor of Abbeville and Tina Brewer of Tifton, 23-grandchildren and 34-great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle is in charge of arrangements.
