Obituary for Laquita W. Newman Laquita W. Newman, age 73 of Abbeville, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2012 in the Dodge County Hospital.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 30th in the Cannonville Baptist Church.Reverend Donald Whitman, Reverend Jim Faircloth and Reverend Chuck Taylor will officiate.Interment will be in the family plot in the Cannonville Cemetery. Mrs. Newman was born in Hawkinsville on July 19, 1938.She was daughter of the late Jack Whitman and Juanita Daniels Whitman.She was Retired City Mail Carrier in Hawkinsville with the United States Postal Service with 33 years of service.She was a homemaker and member of the Cannonville Baptist Church.She was preceded in death by her husband, George Theron “GT” Newman and a son, Kenneth “Pete” Newman. Survivors include:sons-Keith Newman of Abbeville, Kelvin “Bo” Newman of Marietta, brother-Donald Whitman of Abbeville, sisters-Janice Walton of Punta Gorda, Florida and Charlotte Putman of Warner Robins, 6-grandchildren and 2-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Friday, June 29th in the funeral home. Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle is in charge of arrangements.
