Joyce R. Powers, age 88 of Pitts, passed away Monday, May 16, 2016 at her residence.Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Wednesday, May 18th in the Pleasant View Baptist Church.Reverend Jimmy Black and Reverend Gary Griffin will officiate.Interment will be in the family plot in the Pleasant View Cemetery. Mrs. Powers was born on October 31, 1927 in Rochelle, Ga.She was daughter of the late George T. Rhodes and Doris Davison Rhodes.She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.She was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Marshall and a son, Don Powers in 2007. Survivors include:husband of 68 years, James Powers of Pitts, brothers-Thelbert Rhodes of Pitts, Royce Rhodes (Jamie) of Pitts, Billy Rhodes (Peggy) of Acworth, and Willie Rhodes (Shirley) of Pitts, sister-Sue Cranford of Macon, also survived by Joy Owens (Jeff), Jennifer Patrick, Regina Nadeau (Nathan), Jeffrey Owens (Anna), Dustin Owens, Jesse Dickerson, Jordan Dickerson, Peyton Patrick, Tressel Nadeau, Rylan Owens, Clackston Owens, Sebastian Owens and Barbara Whittington (Jerry). Music will be provided by Debbie Bloodworth, Cedric Lavender and Sharon Lavender. Pallbearers will be:Kim Purvis, Mark Rhodes, Richie Rhodes, Stan Rhodes, Steve Rhodes, Robert Marshall, Ken Cranford and Doug Newsome.
