Jewell W. Thompson

Jewell W. Thompson, age 97 of Pitts passed away Saturday, October 8 in the Cordele Health and Rehab in Cordele. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Monday, October 10 in the Pleasant View Baptist Church. Reverend Jimmy Black will officiate. Interment will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery. Mrs. Thompson was born on February 23, 1914 in Pitts, Ga.She was the daughter of the late Theodoreand Mattie Powers Warren .She was a homemaker and a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church where she was a member of the Joy Sunday School Class and the WMU. She was preceded in death by her husband James Pierce Thompson, a son, Heyward Thompson, a daughter, Ruby Rhodes anda grandson, Stanley Bloodworth. Survivors include: son – Freddy (Sarah Nell) Thompson of Pitts, daughters – Shelby(Johnny) Bloodworth of Pineview, Janice (George) Cooke of Thomasville, daughter –in-law, Martha Thompson of Pitts, son-in-law Thelbert Rhodes of Pitts, sister-in-law, Emmalene Thompson of Pitts, 9 Grandchildren, 9 Great-Grandchildren and 6 Great-Great-Grandchildren. Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle has charge of arrangements.
