Janie R. Griffin, age 91 of Screven, Ga., formerly of Rochelle, passed away Friday, Sept. 25 at her residence under the care of Hospice of South Georgia.Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, Sept. 27 in the M. G. Frazier Memorial Chapel of Frazier and Son Funeral Home.Reverend Bobby Richey, Reverend Kenny Griffin, and Reverend Stanley Todd will officiate.Interment will be in the Salem Cemetery. Mrs. Griffin was born on October 14, 1917 in Ben Hill County.She was daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Richey and Abbie Mae Livingston Richey.She was a seamstress and Wilcox Senior Citizen and a member of the Salem Baptist Church.She was a retired factory worker and liked fishing, gardening, and was known as a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Griffin, 2-brothers-Warren Richey and Bill Richey, 2-sisters-Pearl Holt and Mattie Lee Wilson, and 1-great-granddaughter-Cindy Griffin. Survivors include:daughter-Juanita (Bruce) Tomberlin of Screven, sons-James (Martha) Griffin of Macon and Bill (Carrie) Griffin of Fitzgerald, sister-Celia Gibbs of Rochelle, 1-sister-in-law-Lizzie Mae Richey of Rochelle, 12-grandchildren, 28-great-grandchildren and 29-great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Saturday, Sept. 26 in the chapel.
