James Heyward Thompson, Sr.

James Heyward Thompson, Sr., age 68 of 684 McGlamry Rd., Pitts, Ga. passed away Monday, November 29, 2010 in the Crisp Regional Nursing and Rehab Center.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 1, 2010 in the Pleasant View Baptist Church.Dr. Mason Davis will officiate.Interment will follow in the family plot in the Pleasant View Cemetery with Military Rites. Mr. Thompson was born on November 18, 1942 in Pitts, Ga.He was son of the late James Pierce Thompson and was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church.He was a retired Cable Repairman with Bell South and was an avid deer hunter.He served his country with honor in the United States Navy. Survivors include:Wife-Martha Thompson of Pitts, mother-Jewell Thompson of Pitts, son-James (Cherri) Thompson, Jr. of Cordele, daughter-Lilaine (Jeff) Barfield of Pitts, brother-Freddy Thompson of Pitts, sisters-Ruby Rhodes of Pitts, Shelby Bloodworth of Pineview, Janice Cooke of Thomasville and 6-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Tuesday, November 30th in the funeral home. Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle is in charge of arrangements.
