James William Sanderson

James William Sanderson, age 93 of Hilton Head, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 in the Bloom of Hilton Head Assisted Living.A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 8th11:00 AM at 700 Tidepointe Way, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 9th in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery, 4267 Cemetery Rd.,Pitts, Ga. 31072 with Reverend Larry Wilbanks officiating. Mr. Sanderson was born on February 29, 1920 in Wilmington, North Carolina.He was son of the late James Claude Sanderson and Rebecca Alma Sandlin Sanderson.He was retired from the Florida Education System University Division.He had received a Doctorate Degree and was a devout Christian. Survivors include:wife-Helen Brinson Sanderson of Hilton Head, South Carolina, and 4-daughters-Mary Beth (Bill) Milby of Pitts, Sharon Sanderson of Hollywood, Florida, Frances Jean Davis of Elon, North Carolina and Alice (Richard) Wright of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. A light reception/dinner will follow the graveside at The Milby Farm, 1741 Cemetery Rd., Pitts, Ga. 31072. Island Funeral Home in Hilton Head, SC and Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle are in charge of arrangements.
