James D. Fitzgerald, age 84 of Abbeville, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2019 at his residence.Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, May 18th in the First Baptist Church of Rochelle.Visitation will be one hour before the service from 3-4 PM in the church.Reverend Terry Cole and Reverend Craig Barnette will officiate.Interment will be in the Fitzgerald family cemetery. Mr. Fitzgerald was born on July 28, 1934 in Abbeville, Ga.He was son of the late Frank Fitzgerald and Ruby Miller Fitzgerald.He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rochelle.He was a retired Sales Specialist from Supply and Redistribution at Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, Ga. He was a self-employed construction worker.He served his country with honor in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.He is preceded in death by a sister-Maggie F. Gordon and brothers-R. B. (Brummie) Fitzgerald and Frank Fitzgerald, Jr. Survivors include:wife of 60 years-Sandra Fitzgerald of Abbeville, son-Mike Fitzgerald of Abbeville, daughters-Jayne Dalrymple of Tifton and Wanda (Danny) Hawkins of Rochelle, sister-Elizabeth Barnhart of Warner Robins, grandchildren-Kim H. (Clay) Wilson of Fitzgerald, Amanda H. (BJ) McDonald of Ashburn, Barry (Amber) Dalrymple of Ashburn, Ethan (Kaylea) Fitzgerald of Fitzgerald and Danielle Dalrymple of Ashburn, great-grandchildren-Marley Wilson, Myles Wilson, Laney Dalrymple and Emma Dalrymple.
