James E. "Bud" Jones

James E. “Bud” Jones, 99, of Pitts, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017. Funeral services 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2018 in the Pleasant View Baptist Church with Rev.Jimmy Black and Rev. Larry Wilbanks officiating. Visitation 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. in the church before the service. Interment will be in the family plot in Pleasant View Cemetery. He was born in Pitts, GA, May 13,1918, to the late Claude E. and Catherine Warren Jones. He was a life long farmer, a member of the Wilcox County Farm Bureau, former director of the Agri – Georgia Farm Credit, and the oldest member of Pleasant View Baptist Church for 87 years, He was preceded in death by his wife Lou Virginia Mixon Jones and a grandson Nicholas Nutt. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Richard Nutt; grandchildren: Sherri (Dennis) Stone, Sondra (David) Riggs, Richie (Becky) Nutt; great-grandchildren: Shane (Jenna) Rhodes, Shawn (Dannielle) Rhodes, Misti Rhodes, Ginni (Mike) Sheridan, Brittny Nutt, Gabrielle Nutt; great-great-grandchildren: Jude, Knox, Anden, Asher Rhodes and Kinley and James Sheridan. Pallbearers will be Richie Nutt, Dennis Stone, Shane Rhodes, Shawn Rhodes, Terry Jones and Scotty Jones. Frazier & Son Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
