James E. "Pete" Hilliard

James E. "Pete" Hilliard, age 73 of Rochelle, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2022 at his residence.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 21st in the Rochelle United Methodist Church.  Visitation will be one hour before the service from 1-2 PM in the church.  Rev. Eric Sizemore and Rev. David Clark will officiate.  Interment will be in the Christian Home Cemetery.

Mr. Hilliard was born on April 1, 1949 to the late William Henry Hilliard and Georgia Ann Brown Spires and step-father, Tom Spires.  He is preceded in death by his brothers-William and Billy Jack Hilliard and sisters-Thelma Smith, Pearl Roberson, Marie Garrison Barnes, Irene Vaughn, Mary Jo Bowen, Ernestine Pitts.  He was a retired repairman with the Alltel Telephone Company.  He was an avid gardener and cook.

Survivors include:  wife-Mary Hilliard, sons-Jamie (Mandy) Hilliard, Joey Hilliard and Jeremy (Tara) Moore, 12-grandchildren-Waylon Huff, Micaela Johnson (Houston), Jared Hilliard, Hunter Moore, Jaimon Hilliard, Boppy Hilliard, Jude Hilliard, Madison Hilliard, Brantley Moore, Lexie Moore, Makynlee Hilliard and Macy Hilliard, 3-great-grandchildren-Hope Johnson, Rowdy Johnson and Roper Johnson, several nieces and nephews.

Frazier and Son Funeral and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
