James Leroy Clack

Dr. James Leroy Clack, age 83 of Danville, Virginia, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2016 at his residence.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, September 11, 2016 in the First Baptist Church of Rochelle.Visitation will be from 1:30 PM-2:30 PM in the church before the service.Reverend Danny Allen and Reverend Jim Faircloth will officiate.Donnie Clack will do a eulogy.Interment will be in the family plot in the Double Run Cemetery. Mr. Clack was born on September 4, 1933 in Wilcox County.He was son of the late Howard P. Clack and Myrtice Irene Poss Clack.He was a Baptist Minister and was a member of Vandola Baptist Church in Danville, Virginia.He was ordained in Christian Home Baptist Church in September, 1963. He had formerly pastored at Christian Home Baptist Church, Double Run Baptist Church, Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Chula, Ga., Westside Baptist Church in Fitzgerald, Three Forks Baptist Church in Taylorsville, NC, and Vandola Baptist Church in Danville, VA.He was preceded in death by his former wife, Laverne Calhoun Clack and a son, Danny Clack. Survivors include:wife-Nellie Jones Clack of Danville, VA, sons-Larry (June) Clack of Hickory, NC and Jim Clack of High Point, NC, step-daughter-Teresa (John) Richter Graham, NC, brothers-J. C. (Helen Ann) Clack of Covington, Wendel (Gloria) Clack of Albany, Jerry (Joy) Clack of Albany, and Donnie (Ginny) Clack of Rochelle, sisters-Betty Dozier of Abbeville, Peggy Mangum of Dover, Florida, Janet (Charlie) Whittle of Columbus and Glenda (Claude) Selph of Tifton, 4-grandchildren, Brandon Clack, Brent Clack, Christian Clack and Cassidy Clack, great-grandchildren, Brayden Clack, Emma Clack, Issac Clack and Jonah Clack, 3-step-grandchildren and 6-step-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
